Good Lord is there no one in Raleigh that sells heim joints?...or even knows what they are for that matter...As I said in the "bracket" post I want to add two rods to support the weight of the turbo...and thought it would be nice to have adjustable heim joints on either end. I've been to hardware stores, auto parts stores, agri supply (to be fair agri-supply did have some for tractors - they just the size of Rhode Island)...I suspect that Grainger would have them but they aren't open on Saturdays...I guess I'll order them online.
In case you are an employee of Home Depot, Lowes, Carquest, Pep Boys, or Agri Supply (Yes I even had to point them out to their employees) - or anyone else I had to explain it to - This is a heim joint:
Hi Bill,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Kim and I'm the marketing manager for all of the Agri Supply stores. I'm sorry that you didn't get what you needed on your trip to our store. We can help you. We do carry these, however, at our store they call them tie rod assemblies. The information that our customer service people need to know is:
What is the diameter of the opening as well as
the thread size and is it right or left hand threads?
Please feel free to contact me at 919-772-9722 or by email kcalhoun@ncddi.com and we will try our best to get you the part that you need.
Thank you for coming to our store.
Kim Calhoun
Wow, I must say...I'm impressed with you responding. I love your store and will continue to go there for other stuff...but in this case I talked to three different emloyees...and showed them what I was looking for which was one in 3/8"...and none could help...I ordered them from summit racing for $3 each.
